Launching in January 2017, the Navy General Board website was founded with the purpose of exposing people to the many interesting topics of naval history from across the World. Since then, the Navy General Board website has worked to be a place where everyone, from the experienced historian to an interested reader, can learn something new. The website prides itself on being open to new ideas and theories from anyone. In the short time that the website has been around, it has expanded considerably, with new articles and news articles being added on a regular basis. The Navy General Board website will continue to grow bigger and better as time goes on. We welcome anyone to join us on this journey.

Chris Knupp

Chris Knupp

NGB Owner and Author

Chris Knupp is a student of military history. He has written and published several articles on the design and development of warships during the 1900s. He currently operates the Navy General Board website in his quest to make history more accessible for the general public. He hopes to one day open the greatest history museum ever known.

Matthew J Wright

Author and Published Historian

I’m a New Zealand writer with over thirty years hands-on professional experience as a published author and in publishing. My main interests are in the sciences – physics, particularly, though I’m deeply curious about a lot of stuff, especially the human condition. I have qualifications in writing, music, and anthology among other fields, and hold multiple post-graduate degrees in history. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Honor Society at University College, London.

Andy South

Author and Published Historian

Andy South is the newest addition to the Navy General Board crew. He specializes in the First World War, having written several impressive articles on the subject. Andy has also recently published the first of what appear to be many books. 

Travis Tomaszkiewicz

NGB Author

Travis Tomaszkiewicz was the second member of the Navy General Board crew. If you have ever contacted the website on social media, more than likely you have spoken with him. He is a veteran of the United States tin can navy and offers a unique perspective on modern US Navy life.

Buddy Stewart

Social Media Admin

Buddy Stewart manages the Navy General Board Facebook group and also contributes to the main page. If you have joined the group recently, Buddy was the one who accepted you. He is a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on several ships including the destroyer USS Deyo.
